Haunting You 03:59
I'm so close to haunting you The sand in your eyelid, The pebble in your shoe I'll be a shadow still over you The unblinking stare from the corner of your room I don't care if you feel a chill Long as it's my chill I'm so close to prevalence A word in every sentence, a post in every fence A part of me everywhere 'Til you can't escape my warm breath in your hair I will make your hair stand on end Stand to my ends 'Cause you've been pulling me Your marionette strings have been making me do things As your fingers pluck me this way And then that way I can't get you out of my head Tossing and turning in my grave of a bed I'm so set on haunting you 'Cause that's all you've done to me, turning the screw And your silhouette beats its wings 'Til it shapes me But I won't be outdone, I'll shape you too I'll fill up the room All of your furniture and carpet space Will map out my face I'm so close to haunting you A brick through your window A nail through your shoe, oh...

it's another way to keep sterile or it's a hand you've got to try and marry off. But I know that there's a floor waiting. It's a catch the size of New Amsterdam. When I'm done with my cigarette, I'll be sure as divinity. You can tell the carpet's stolen. You can feel it when the heat blows over. I come ambling out to stop traffic Before the dew arrives and dries later. When the street is a cabaret and the stars spin in pirhouettes and the sun swings in his arabesque I'll dance like a fool with thread like a screw you can't steal any laws or break any falls.

released February 13, 2009

After a year of recording what was intended to be a full length, Living With Hermits decided their stylistic changes called for starting anew. Adding two new recordings (Traveller's Check, Muse Mixdown 1) to four songs that had been recorded from January to March 2008, they have released the Beholden EP.
The sound is a combination of folk-rock, seventies guitar-pop, and some sublimations of Radiohead's aesthetic.
Several of these songs were originally conceived as part of a concept album in which each song would combine the story-structures of ancient mythology with contemporary American (and Kentuckian), domestic settings. The working title was Eurydice.

about

Living With Hermits Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Justin Bowsher makes music that ranges from finger-picky folk to tweaked out funktronica. Entirely self-produced, Bowsher tends to focus more on the recordings than on the songs, themselves, though the songs are strong.
